Dougherty Valley High School Library, San Ramon, CA

Architect: Akol & Yoshii, Walnut Creek, CA

In 2007, San Ramon opened a new school featuring four two-story classroom buildings with a capacity of up to 2,200 students. Our firm provided recommendations for the library, theater, and community center. The intent of the library's acoustical design was to provide a quiet ambient environment that would encourage student research and collaboration. Our firm achieved this by integrating sound-absorbing wall and ceiling treatments with architectural finishes to control noise build-up.
