Bucksbaum Campus of the Aspen Music Festival and School, Aspen, CO

Architect: Harry Teague Architects

We provided acoustical consulting for the phased new construction of the campus for the Country Day School and Music Festival, which includes rehearsal and practice facilities shared as classrooms. The first phase comprised 44,000 square feet of new buildings on the 23-acre campus and was completed in May 2013. These buildings included 3 rehearsal halls, 32 teaching studios and an electronic media studio, orchestral and chamber music libraries, and 72 practice rooms. Phase 2 covers 38 acres of the property and includes acoustical design for another larger music rehearsal hall, a cafeteria with an exterior deck overlooking the ponds, and administrative space. Unique features include the use of acoustically upgraded Skyfold movable partitions to divide classrooms into faculty studios and a specially tuned sound masking network.
