Terrazzo Mixed-Use, Nashville, TN

Architect: Hastings Architecture Associates and Manuel Zeitlin Architects, Nashville, TN

Acoustical consulting for a LEED-certified, 14-story, mixed-use building in The Gulch neighborhood of Nashville. The development combines ground-level retail, 3 stories of commercial offices, and 10 stories of condominiums on a site overlooking Interstate 40 and other major thoroughfares. To reduce the impact of roadway noise, Salter provided recommendations for sound-rated window assemblies, while sound-isolating partitions in the walls and ceiling addressed the variety of tenant and use types within the building. We also considered ways to reduce the impact of noise from diverse mechanical systems.
