Russell Investments, Seattle, WA

Architect: NBBJ, Seattle, WA

Founded in 1936, Russell Investments is a global financial services firm that serves institutional investors, financial advisors, and individuals in more than 40 countries. Audiovisual technology played a central role in the design of the new Russell Investments headquarters located in downtown Seattle.

At the time of the office's completion, each of the 5 floors of Russell's space featured a 40-foot wall that ran projection graphics representing real-time data from the Russell Indexes, leading financial indicators, global currencies, and breaking financial news -- all converted into abstracted, full-motion info graphics. Many conference rooms offer centralized controls, touch panels, and videoconferencing. A distributed HD television system streams the internal "Russell TV" channel and other major financial channels throughout the facility. All of the media systems can be completely managed and controlled through the owner's data network.
