Mineta San Jose International Airport, San Jose, CA

Architect: CSDA Architects, San Francisco, CA

Salter provided acoustical consulting services for this airport project beginning in 1995 and continuing through 2009. Our firm conducted measurements in over 1,200 homes adjacent to the airport to quantify aircraft noise levels inside of the homes to determine whether the homes were eligible for sound insulation. In addition, we were involved in three phases of the airport's sound insulation program where we conducted pre and post-retrofit acoustical measurements, acoustical design, contractor briefing, material specification, submittal review, RFI and change order review, material inspections, reporting, and presentations for over 1,700 homes.

For one of the phases, we functioned as the prime consultant leading the Acoustical Treatment (ACT) Program for 150 residences. Sub-consultants included an architectural firm, a mechanical engineering firm, and a homeowner liaison firm.
