Dolby Laboratories, San Francisco, CA

Architect: Barry Reischmann, San Franciso, CA

Dolby Laboratory is a global leader in providing technologies that enhance entertainment experiences. The 70-seat San Francisco Dolby Screening Room is located on the third floor in a building originally constructed 100 years ago. It is used primarily to demonstrate, evaluate, and develop new products for improving motion picture sound. This screening room is used as a reference by several Bay Area directors and producers. AES and SMPTE professional society meetings are frequently held in the space as well. Charles M. Salter Associates provided acoustical recommendations for the screening room, its associated audio control, and projection rooms.
