Thomas A. Schindler, PE | Senior Vice President

Tom has been with Salter since 1984 and specializes in acoustical engineering, specifically architectural acoustics, noise and vibration control, and audiovisual system design. His expertise is applied to a broad range of projects, including performance spaces, media production and post-production facilities, laboratories, and educational facilities. He prepares specifications and details, conducts field-testing and data analysis, and develops remedial solutions for existing acoustical and audio problems.

Before joining Charles M. Salter Associates, Inc. (Salter), Tom worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard reducing the noise and vibration of submarines and related ocean engineering activities. At Salter he has participated in the acoustical design of the Skywalker Ranch Technical Building and the design of a variety of broadcast and performing arts facilities, including Disney, ESPN, Fox, and Yoshi’s Jazz Club (San Francisco and Oakland locations). Tom consulted on the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Community School of Music and Arts, and the Letterman Digital Arts Center.
