Alex Schiefer | Consultant

Alex received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in control systems and started his career working with microprocessor controls. An architect inspired Alex to join the solar energy movement designing passive solar homes and domestic hot water systems. A local utility noticed this and recruited Alex for their solar energy initiatives. Alex administrated these programs and lectured to schools on how to design solar energy systems, before working as a CADD computer administrator, network specialist, and project administrator. With the advent and growth of eCommerce firms, Alex became a UNIX system administrator deploying web servers and content for software developers. Concurrently, he renovated houses and assisted residential builders with construction documentation. This eventually led him to develop home offices with computer setups, software, networking, and structured wire designs.

After helping with kitchen and bathroom remodels at an architecture/interior design firm, Alex joined forces with a large healthcare architectural firm performing construction administration documentation and field support for tenant improvement and interior design collaborations. Alex is now applying his combined background in computer hardware, software, networking, and CADD construction documentation to Salter’s technology projects.
